What’s new: An interesting post this month by Spirent’s Jeremy Bennington about GPS disruption causing an airplane to seem it was over North Korea when it wasn’t.
Why its important: As Jeremy mentions, this kind of thing can get people killed.
What else to know: We wonder:
- How this looked in the British Airways cockpit.
- How concerned the pilot’s were.
- If the UK aviation authority or British Airways will investigate and share lessons learned.
- Or if this is becoming so commonplace it is not worth the effort.

A disturbing GPS Spoofing attack today. This time a British Airways flight from the UK to Japan overflying South Korea…or was it? The GPS & ADS-B reported the Boeing 787 over NORTH KOREA. The GPS position quality/integrity varied from perfect to poor reporting a position over N. Korea.
