What’s new:

  • The Coast Guard has announced more information about CGSIC in April, and provided a link if you want to attend in person.
  • RNT Foundation has scheduled its annual meeting and reception for the evening of the 20th of April at NAB headquarters (very near to DOT Headquarters where CGSIC is going to be held). Invited VIP guest and speakers include:
    • Dept. of Transportation Deputy Secretary Steven Bradbury, and
    • Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, Marc Berkowitz

Why its important:

  • Both are great opportunities to learn about U.S. PNT policy, technology and network with other PNT professionals.
  • Anyone can attend CGSIC. Just register at this link if you want to attend in person.
  • RNT Foundation members will all receive an invitation to the annual meeting and reception free of charge.

All CGSIC:

The 65th meeting of the U.S. Government’s Civil GPS Service Interface Committee (CGSIC) will be hosted by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Positioning, Navigation, Timing (PNT) & Spectrum Management and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Navigation Center (NAVCEN). The meeting will be held on 20 & 21 April 2026 at the Department of Transportation Headquarters building in Washington, DC. DOT serves as the civil lead for the Global Positioning System (GPS) and chairs the CGSIC in this capacity. NAVCEN fulfills duties as Deputy Chair and Executive Secretariat for the CGSIC.

Agendas for the CGSIC Subcommittee and Plenary sessions will include presentations on the operational status and modernization of the GPS constellation of satellites, U.S. space-based Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) national U.S. policy, GPS augmentation systems, information related to U.S. engagement with other international Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) as well as a variety of interesting applications and use of GPS.

The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format with an online option for those unable to attend in person. Links to the virtual attendance opportunity will be posted online and included in the agenda prior to the event.
