What’s New: Secure World Foundation’s annual report on global counterspace capabilities.

Why It’s Important: We have put a lot of really important things in space. It is essential we understand the threats to them.

What Else to Know:

The U.S. has far more satellites and is far more dependent on space than any other nations.
Threats to space, therefore, are threats to the U.S.
There are non-hostile threats to assets in space also. Things like severe solar weather, debris, and accidents.
When we first started putting things in space they were in “a safe place” far from hostilities. The hostilities have now caught up.
