What’s New: The war between Israel and Hamas has changed the patterns of GPS interference in the Middle East.

  • Yesterday there more interference in Gaza and the West Bank than had been the case a week before
  • It is hard to say if the GPS jamming is by Israeli or Hamas forces. Both could be trying to degrade the effectiveness of the other’s weapons and the ability of forces to coordinate and maneuver.
  • Numerous sources have reported Hamas jammed Israeli communications during the initial attack.

Why It’s Important: PNT services from GPS are critical to any number of weapons systems and civil technologies.

What Else to Know: The Middle East has long been a hot bed of GPS jamming and spoofing.

  • Russian systems in Syria regularly interfere with air traffic at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport, for example.

What Can YOU Do? How Can YOU Help?

PNT is the quiet backbone of everything but too many leaders still don't see the risk.

But you do. You understand the systems, the dependencies, the failure chains. That insight is rare — and it's exactly what your country needs right now. Contact your government leaders and industry decision-makers and tell them resilient PNT isn't a feature — it's the foundation everything else depends on.
