What’s new: A working group examining effects, mitigations and solutions of GNSS interference in maritime.
Why it’s important: GNSS interference in maritime can have serious consequences. We have already seen it:
- Contribute to groundings and collisions,
- Result in vessels being seized for violating territorial waters, and
- Support smuggling, illegal fishing, sanction avoidance, and any number of other malicious activities.
What else to know: This effort is intended to do for maritime what the OPSGROUP report did for aviation last summer.
