GPSIA Appoints Lisa Dyer as Executive Director
Washington, May 9, 2023 – Today, the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA) announced the appointment of Lisa Dyer as Executive Director. Dyer will lead GPSIA in expanding its footprint in Washington, advocating for its members and supporting the modernization of GPS, and the relentless innovation of the GPS industry.
“We are excited to welcome Lisa into our organization,” said Jim Kirkland, president of GPSIA and Senior Vice President for external affairs at Trimble Inc., a GPSIA member company. “Her experience in both the public and private sectors and expertise in space, technology and national security will prove invaluable in helping to lead GPSIA into the future.”
“I am honored to join GPSIA and lead an organization that is furthering innovation across the globe,” said Dyer. “In this role, I am looking forward to uplifting GPSIA’s unique member companies that are leading the way for all essential uses of GPS, ranging from defense and national security to agriculture and fitness.”
With more than 25 years of experience as a leader at the intersection of public policy, national security, business and technology, Dyer brings a unique understanding of spectrum policy and infrastructure modernization to her new role. She most recently designed processes at Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, LLC, which manufactures non-nuclear components for the Nuclear Security Enterprise. Prior to that, Dyer served as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Irrigreen, a technology-driven startup increasing water savings. She has been a strategic advisor and policy strategist in the technology sector, and, as Director of Policy with the Partnership on AI, she led the development and implementation of its first policy and government affairs strategy.
Dyer began her career in the U.S. Air Force and later worked at the U.S. Department of State, where she served in the Bureau of Nonproliferation, the Bureau of Intelligence and Research and the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. Dyer has extensive experience in space policy, representing the Department of State at the National Security Council, Department of Commerce, Intelligence Community and Department of Defense to resolve space policy issues, including regulatory matters. In her career, she has advocated for future Defense and Intelligence Community satellite and sensor systems to safeguard national security and support future innovation.
Dyer received her bachelor’s in political science from the United States Air Force Academy and her master’s in management from Antioch University.
