What’s new: As promised, the U.S. government is modifying export controls to allow CRPA antennas used for PNT to be more freely exported from the country.

Why it’s important: These kind of antennas can significantly reduce a receiver’s vulnerability to jamming and spoofing.

What else to know:

  • U.S. manufacturers have been unnecessarily hampered by this restriction for years. The slow speed of government review and processes, the lack of a sense of urgency, and the absence of energized senior champions contributed to many users being far more vulnerable for far longer than necessary. Not to mention the loss of business opportunities for U.S. companies.
