What’s new: TV news report by Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Spotlight on America.

Why it’s important: This helps raise popular awareness of the threat and the need to act. Sinclair has 193 stations in 100 markets across the US and says they reach 40% of American household.

What else to know:

  • At one time the National Guard had a significant effort called NITRO underway to provide timing and eventually PNT to critical infrastructure. That seems to have been cancelled or at least put on hold.
  • The TV-based system mentioned in the National Assn of Broadcaster’s Broadcast Positioning System.

Our GPS system is vulnerable, threatening everyday life. What’s being done about it?

The country’s GPS systems may be more vulnerable than you might think, and the stakes are high.

A failure could impact transportation, banking and emergency operations. But despite loud warnings, there’s still no backup officially in place.

What Can YOU Do? How Can YOU Help?

PNT is the quiet backbone of everything but too many leaders still don’t see the risk.

But you do. You understand the systems, the dependencies, the failure chains. That insight is rare — and it’s exactly what your country needs right now. Contact your government leaders and industry decision-makers and tell them resilient PNT isn’t a feature — it’s the foundation everything else depends on.
