What’s new: More evidence of the continuing spread of spoofing.

Why it’s important: Spoofing is dangerous, increasingly easy, and there are lots of reasons to do it. Including just on a whim because a hacker is bored.

What else to know:

  • The article talks about the spoofing not being in a conflict zone. Yet India and Pakistan have been engaged in low-level conflict for decades. And the two locations mentioned are quite near the Pakistani and Indian border.
  • The article reports 465 spoofing incidents between Nov 2023 and Feb 2025.
