What’s New: OPSGROUP has published guidance for crew and tech personnel on GPS spoofing in aviation.

Why it’s Important:

  • GPS spoofing in aviation has seen a huge uptick, especially in the middle east, Ukraine, and the Baltic. It has also started appearing in the Koreas.
  • OPSGROUP has 8,000+ members who are pilots, dispatchers, schedulers, and controllers involved in international flight operations.
  • Over the summer OPSGROUP put together a series of workshops to examine GPS disruptions and provide guidance to its members. Clearly because they didn’t think governments and the aviation industry was doing enough to inform people.

What Else to Know:

  • When they put together the workshops they said part of the reason was because things were “getting out of hand” and “an accident is imminent.”
  • Both are very well formatted and easy reads. Take a look!

What Can YOU Do? How Can YOU Help?

PNT is the quiet backbone of everything but too many leaders still don't see the risk.

But you do. You understand the systems, the dependencies, the failure chains. That insight is rare — and it's exactly what your country needs right now. Contact your government leaders and industry decision-makers and tell them resilient PNT isn't a feature — it's the foundation everything else depends on.
