Blog Editor’s Note – This presentation was provided at the IAIN World Congress in Japan last month. It has a good overview of the differences between eLoran and the older Loran-C, and hints at what the new technology is capable of. While eLoran has an effective range of about 800 miles from the antenna, we are sure that, if we can make sense of such faint GPS signals from satellites that are 12,500 miles away, smart people will figure out how to make the already great performance of eLoran even better.
